Sharing

Do you have enough to share with everyone?
Remember when you went to school and you had a piece of candy and you tried to sneak it into your mouth but the crinkling of the wrapper caught the teacher’s attention – or the “goody two shoes girl behind you shouted, “Jim has candy (I’m not bitter)” and the teacher said, “Did you bring enough to share with everyone?”
How about on your birthday when you took cupcakes in for the whole class and you triple counted four times to make sure you had one for everyone (and one extra so you could eat it on the way home) so you could share?
I can ever remember the old commercial for Rolo candy – it is a round and flap chocolate filled with caramel – “You can roll a Rolo to your pal!” The whole ad was focused on sharing.
The man who wrote the most letters to His friends in the First Century that are in the New Testament of the Bible lived a life of sharing. Paul told his friends in the ancient city of Corinth, Greece that his only motive for telling them about Jesus and a fantastic life was his desire to share.
He wanted to share forgiveness, living everyday know Jesus is leading and success is constant, healthy relationships, healing communities, thriving businesses, recovery from life’s “stuff,” and life eternal in the Heaven we were created to live in. He also wanted to share life with them – he knew how much fun it was to tell someone about Jesus and to be able to do life with them – “ I know, Jesus did that for me too and I too feel so free inside!” Paul shared Jesus and life – he gave and then they gave to one another! How cool is that!?!?
This fall at Ridge Point we will begin another year of sharing the Gospel – intentionally reaching lost people and then doing life together journeying together to full life in Jesus. God wants us to know the joy and thrill of knowing Him and telling others about Him and then cheering on one another and for one another – sharing Truth and Life.
Don’t miss the thrill. Use every “tool” your church offers you and everyone around you. There is more than enough to go around. He will never shame you in to sharing or tattle when you don’t feel like it – you and I will just miss out on the experience of fullest life. He asks us to pass around the love of Jesus and allow our whole circle of friends to be embraced in the party – the celebration of Heaven touching Earth through Jesus’ followers.
Blessings – I love you all, Jim
